The teachings of the Quran remind us that the month of Ramadan is full of blessings and love to share with each other. Ramadan Greetings and Ramadan quotes are motivational, encouraging, and inspiring wording for this holy month. You have to welcome friends and passersby during this month of prayers and fasting in a manner that is welcoming and friendly. Here are some of the greetings that Muslims use during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak- This greeting means blessed, ‘may Ramadan bring you blessings’. Mubarak means blessed and therefore in a real sense, Muslims are wishing each other a holy month full of blessings from Allah. This is a very common greeting among the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan. Most Muslims opt for Ramadan Mubarak as the proper greeting. The greeting can also basically mean congratulations on its Ramadan. The word ‘Mubarak’ culturally can be used when someone has achieved a certain object to congratulate them. Therefore, in this case, Muslims would use this greeting to congratulate each other for the many blessings they would be granted by Allah. Ramadan Kareem- This phrase translates to ‘’ may Ramadan be generous to you’’. It also means Generous Month. During fasting, Muslims get to experience hunger and relate to the challenges poor people face. This greeting is meant to teach them the importance of generosity and encourage them to empathize with the poor. They can do this by donating clothes or shoes and giving them food. Furthermore, the greeting has another meaning to it. It is meant to depict the blessings and rewards Allah will grant those Muslims who are faithful in the worship and practices of the holy month. Those who do good deeds such as helping the less fortunate will also be rewarded handsomely. Kul ‘am wa enta bi-khair- This is another Ramadan greeting that typically means ‘may every year find you in good health’. It’s an Arabic phrase that people say to each other mostly during each annual occasion such as Ramadan. Its main intention is to wish them a healthy year full of meaning and prosperity. One of the significances of Ramadan is to seek Allah’s blessings and one of His greatest blessings is having stable health. This is definitely among the powerful and proper Ramadan greetings. Ramadan Shareef- It’s a greeting with the meaning ‘may your Ramadan be noble’. Though not such a commonly used form of greeting among the Muslims, there are a few people who use it. The holy month of Ramadan is the period during which most, if not all people in the Islamic community maintain high moral principles. Qualities related to nobleness include generosity and honesty which are highly encouraged during this time. This is actually where the greeting Ramadan Shareef comes in. Happy Ramadan- Mostly either Ramadan Mubarak or Ramadan Kareem is the proper and commonly used greetings. However, some people choose to simply say ‘Happy Ramadan’. It is still a nice way to greet a Muslim during Ramadan. It’s one of those ways to wish them happiness and joy. After Ramadan, it is a time to celebrate it with eid, and one of the best ways to celebrate it by sending Eid Mubarak messages and wishes to people and also by inviting them for a dinner.
