“Moksha means eternal ultimate freedom from all misery.” Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan. rnSalvation (moksha) implies total freedom from all pain, suffering and misery. It is liberation from all the merit and the demerit karmas on dissolution of all the emotions caused by atoms of anger, pride, deceit, greed, attachment and hatred. It is liberation from the world. rnEvery being is in search of happinessrnIt is the intrinsic nature of every being to look for happiness. Everything we do is with the intent to be happy. As a child, one searches for happiness in toys and games, in being loved and pampered. As an adult, the source of happiness changes, but the search for happiness continues. One finds happiness in money, possessions, relationships, status, material items etc. However in none of these, does one find permanent, everlasting happiness. Either the possessions, relationships, etc. leave us, or we leave them some day or the other. rnWhen they go away from us, they give us misery that is proportional to the happiness we derived from them. Thus, the world runs in search of permanent happiness but ends up in finding temporary happiness that results in misery. rnWhy is Salvation important? rnSalvation is the only way to attain happiness that is permanent and experience it without being dependent on anything or anyone. When we are free from all karmas, we attain salvation. It is only in the human life form that one binds karmas. In all other life forms, karmas are discharging and one only experiences the effects of karmas bound in human life. rnIn the human form, one causes new karmas and also experiences the effects of past karmas. Based on the types of karmas bound (merit or demerit), one gets a new life form (new birth). That is why it is possible for a human to go to any of the four major life forms: rnCelestial, rnHuman, rnAnimal, and rnHell. Human life is like a junction point; it determines where one’s next birth will be, depending on the type of karmas one has bound in life. Karmas are the cause of misery and suffering. Karmas are bound through ignorance of our true Self and the false belief of doership. And because of these we continue to suffer and are bound. The ultimate purpose of a human birth is to attain moksharnTo be born as a human is considered extremely fortunate for it is only in the human life that one can intend to come out of the life cycles and achieve Moksha. One has strived to look for this path for countless past lives, but one has not found it. However, it is possible to attain moksha from human life if one finds the right path. Fulfilment of this ultimate purpose of human life happens only when one meets the Enlightened One (Gnani Purush), for it is only a Gnani who can set us free from the ignorance of our true self and false belief of doership, thus, leading us onto the path of salvation.
