Here are 5 important tips to help you learn the best way to lose stomach fat fast. 1. Water – Not only is water great for your health, it will help you lose fat too. Staying well hydrated will allow you to workout at a good intensity. A study found that just a 3% drop in hydration caused a 19% drop in performance! You should be drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, but if you are active, you will most likely need more than this. 2. Avoid eating a lot in the evenings – Your metabolism slows down when you are less active, so it drops to as low as it gets in your sleep. Keep your evening meal portion sizes small and avoid eating too many calories. You should also avoid eating too many carbohydrates at night. Complex carbohydrates like pasta, rice and potato can be a great way to get healthy long lasting energy for when you are most active (during the day). However, carbohydrates are not a necessity just before you go to sleep. If you eat too much of them in the evenings, that energy may converted into fat. It’s best to stock up on carbohydrates for breakfast and dinner. Then in the evenings, your plate can be orientated more around proteins and vegetables. 3. Never skip meals – Your resting metabolic rate is at its highest when you are constantly feeding your body with calories. If you skip a meal, your body shuts down its metabolism. Focus on having 5-6 small meals a day that are approximately 3 hours apart from each other. 4. Alcohol – Avoid drinking a lot of alcohol, this will only make it harder to lose weight. When the body consumes alcohol it focuses all of its effort on metabolizing and processing it. While it metabolizes the alcohol, your fat burning system known as the Kreb’s cycle is shut down. This makes it very difficult to get rid of belly fat as alcohol also contains a high number of calories. 5. Exercise – This is a crucial part of any fat burning plan. Exercising on top of having a good diet will speed up weight loss drastically. For just working out 30-45 minutes you could burn several hundred calories. Aim to exercise at 60-65% of your max heart rate, you shouldn’t train at too high an intensity otherwise you will probably not be able to last as long. Training for longer means you will be able to spend more calories, therefore speed up the rate at which you lose that stomach fat.
