So, you love sports? What is the game you like? Tennis is one game which is enjoyed by the young and old alike – all over the world! However, there is plenty of difference between the two games. Here is a brief on how different both the games are.rnRecently, in a party, I witnessed a great debate where people were discussing various sports and their popularity. Though, it was quite an interesting debate, there was an immense problem, when people started talking about the game of tennis and table tennis. Someone preferred tennis while others preferred table tennis.rnWell – there are plenty of difference and both the sports are quite different from one another. Lawn tennis is one of the most watched games of the world. Several tournaments are played throughout the world with great prize money. Whereas, table tennis is a new game which doesn’t enjoy so much coverage till now, though the popularity of the game is rising quite fast. However, tennis enjoys wider coverage and greater popularity till now. rnThis doesn’t mean that table tennis isn’t much a popular game – this is one of the most popular indoor games, which is enjoyed by young and old alike. Here are some more differences between the two games and know how they are different from one another.rnDifference in EquipmentrnThe first difference is in the kind of equipment use. To play tennis rackets are used which are usually 27.5 inches in length. They are of 9.3 oz. These are of high quality and made from good quality rubber and plastic. There are a few rackets available which are heavier too, since they are prepared as per the needs of the customers. If you desire to serve the ball from a side to another, you need to hit it in the square area and that too right in front of player. If you are not able to hit the area, you can even lose a point. It is also seen that the size of count of singles and doubles is different. The most important factor is that tennis is one game which first begun in England. Today, it is a popular sport, played all around the world.rnTable tennis is quite different from Tennis, which is explained just above. First and foremost, table tennis is played on a table and not in the court, as Tennis is played. In order to play table tennis, the equipment needed is quite simple. All that you need are table tennis paddles and ball. The paddles are smaller in size when compared to tennis paddles. These are generally 6 inches in width and are 10 inches in length. This includes the handle of the paddle. The score is usually 11 points. rnIt needs to be noted here that the rules of table tennis are quite similar to the rules of tennis. Both the games have a similar count. Thus, with table tennis there is always a requirement to hit the ball. If you are not able to do this, you might have to lose a point. The ball size is almost the same. Both the games can be played in singles or in doubles. However, in spite of so much similarity between the two games, tennis is one game which is enjoyed all over the world. The game of table tennis is played indoors and is yet to become popular in the next few years.rnIt can be said that table tennis and tennis are games which are quite similar in terms of popularity, rules and equipment. There are hundreds of people all over the world, who play table tennis while many more love to watch the Grand Tennis tournaments. In simpler terms, table tennis is easier played as a game of the masses. It is played at home, in local clubs and in schools. Tennis, on the other hand, needs plenty of space, infrastructure and is played on the international level. However, both the games are enjoyable and equally liked by all. If you haven’t witnessed any such tournament, plan a trip at the earliest and enjoy the game to the fullest. Table tennis can be enjoyed whenever you have free time and can be played with very little infrastructure and preparation.
