IFSC or Indian Financial System Code is an eleven character alpha-numeric code which is used while carrying out online transactions through NEFT, RTGS and IMPS. The first four characters of this code are alphabets that represent the name of the bank. The fifth character is compulsorily zero and is marked for future use. Last six characters of the code are the branch’s code. The IFS code is generated by the Reserve Bank of India and every branch of every bank has a unique IFS code. Here ICIC represents that the branch where the account is opened is of ICICI Bank. The last six digits 000610 is the branch code of the Cyber Greens branch within the ICICI Bank. All account numbers in this branch will start with the same six digits. Whenever a transaction request in an account opened here is placed online, the payment gateways approve it after verifying the IFS code mentioned by the payee while making the transaction.
