Lean-to conservatories or home extender conservatories have a square or rectangular architectural design just like the Edwardian style conservatory. The conservatorys roof is sloped and it often attached to one of the walls of the house. This type of conservatory is so versatile due to the fact they are so low pitched, which makes them even suitable for bungalows and they also capture the sun which is why they have been given the name sun rooms. You may also find them in a whole array of colours and styles. It is also possible to purchase your lean-to conservatory as a do it yourself kit so you can build your own conservatory! This is why the lean-to conservatory has become so popular due to the fact it is so cost effective. There are also a lot cheaper to purchase that other types of conservatory. This is another reason that puts them in the cost effective bracket. Because the materials you are using are of a good quality and are strong and sturdy you can be safe in the knowledge that you have purchased a quality product that will last, even if you decide to erect it yourself. You will find that not only is the lean-to conservatory inexpensive and easy to erect, it also come in sizes 8x8 for a square and 8x12 for a rectangle. The conservatory sizes will reply on the amount of space you have in which to put your conservatory. The roof of the conservatory is attached to the house wall making the conservatory very accessible from the house and because it requires very less construction skill and equipment or tools, it becomes very cost effective to set it up as well. Another reason the lean-to is more cost effective is that because it is so close tot the house you do not need to install any extra utilities such as taps, so again, cost effective. You will find the majority of the materials you will need to make your lean-to conservatory are cheap and easy to find as it only requires things such as wood, glass, plastic and metal. In order to keep your lean-to conservatory cost effective and simple to build, an ideal option would be a layer of foam insulation on the floor, covered by a sheet of plywood in order to retain heat. By building your lean-to conservatory on a side of the house with the most sun exposure (if this is possible) then you will be ensuring that your energy costs are low and therefore be provided with another reason why the lean-to conservatory is the most cost effective option.
