What It Feels Like When You Overcome Shyness

The thing is, there really is a difference in how you feel after you overcome shyness. I'm not talking about overcoming shyness where you get bold for a brief moment and then anxiety creeps back in. I'm talking about a full blown recovery where there is no going back. A few years ago I accomplished this and I'm here to tell you what it was like because it might help you too. I got to a point where you just get sick and tired of being painfully shy and decide to start taking massive action. It's when you start to get more and more obsessed about getting this area of your life handled. Especially when you begin to realize the solution is right in front of you. Me, I didn't understand it quickly when I came across the answers. Being shy and being outgoing has it's differences and you don't know the difference until you see it. What I learned over the years is that shy people are long term thinkers while outgoing people come closer to short-term thinkers in social interaction. In fact, they worry so much, they think 10 to 15 minutes into the future of an interaction and imagine a scenario of how it isn't going to work out. Some people think weeks or months ahead before meeting someone. This otherwise useful trait in career and life spells into disaster when applied to social life. Here's the second thing that shy people do that is working against them...it's replaying past events in their minds beyond the point of usefulness. There is an air of emotional lingering and attachment to a situation. While shy people worry about the past and the future, outgoing people spend that time focusing on the real time events happening right now. Think about it, while spending mental resources on the past and the future (both of which you have no immediate control over) that energy is used to deal with the present moment by socially outgoing people. It's true that our mental energy can only be focused on a few things at a time. By letting your mind go off on a momentum of future and past thoughts you're working against yourself in dealing with the situations happening now. Letting go of your thoughts about the future and past doesn't throw your life into chaos. Some people believe it will make their situation worse.
