Viral marketing: Viral marketing is a technique that causes websites or users to pass on advertisements to other sites or users. However, it is an indirect mode of advertising.

Directory Listings: This is actually a service which places sites in specific categories in a directory. This sort of service can be free or chargeable. The listing of directory can be developed in Yellow Pages or online directories like Yahoo.

RSS and news article feeds: Rich Site Summary (RSS) is a format of feeding a website with regularly updated or changed web content. Web content could be anything, such as blog entries, news headlines, audio or video files.
