Having a healthy breakfast is essential to staying healthy, and often this meal of the day is called “king of all meals.” But this does not imply that other meals of the day are not as important. For the longest time, Ayurvedic experts are stressing not only a light dinner but a healthier one. There are a few things that you must avoid at night because they imbalance Kapha’s balance. The last part of the day is controlled by Kapha, so our diet should be based on balancing the Kapha part.

Consuming Kapha can lead to an excess of mucus in the nasal passages.
Moderation is the key
It is important to take a light dinner as it promotes healthy sleep. This is because our digestive system is not functioning properly during late hours, making it difficult for the body to digest heavy food. Overeating expands the stomach, so you do not feel the need for additional food. Also, give at least a gap of 2-3 hours between your dinner and bedtime.
Include more protein-rich foods at night
Eat pulses, green vegetables, lentils, and curry leaves for your evening meal. It is good to have more protein and fewer carbs at night to keep your digestive system working healthily.
Avoid salt after 7 PM
Yes, it is good for your health. What is more important than this is to cut down salt after sunset as much as you can. Salt is supposed to promote water retention in the body. As we consume more salt in our diet at night, we put our heart and blood vessels at risk of high blood pressure or high blood pressure.
Include more spices in your dinner meals
Spices have many benefits for our health besides adding flavor to the food. Spices increase warmth in your body and may help in weight loss by helping out with appetite. Add more spices like cinnamon, fenugreek, cardamom, black and white pepper to your meals.
Replace sugar with honey
Avoid sugar in your meals after sunset, or you can replace it with honey if needed. Adding honey will help improve the taste and also do more good to your body than sugar harms your body. Another benefit of adding honey to your meals is that it helps in reducing mucus.
Focus on the food you eat
Practice mindful eating. Do not watch TV or be distracted by what is going around. Eating food with attention becomes a meditation; therefore, and when you are eating with awareness, you will eat the right amount of food and feel your health.
Take low-fat milk
