What To Do On Your First Date

Someone invited you to go on a date! Surely that is something to be happy about and cause excitement. It’s natural to get nervous, but it isn’t right to worry.

Confirm your date as quickly as possible to show how much you are actually looking forward to meeting your date!

Value your date’s time and be responsible by showing up on time. Being late for a date gives the impression that you do not respect your date’s time and you are someone who cannot be relied on.

Make sure you are well-groomed and dress well. Flowers or a small token are old-fashioned but women love presents. Women like gentlemen who open and hold the door for them. On the other hand, women should not feel shy bringing small gift for a date as remembrance.

Obviously, the person who asked for the date is more likely responsible to a certain extent. Wherever or however you’ll meet, make good use of the personal information you may find to have an idea as to what your date might like to do. If you have the chance, give suggestions to the person before the date so both you and your date knows what to expect.

First dates should be simple but fun to the point that both parties get to know each other. Think about the other person’s interests and personality before deciding to go on a first date. Again, personal information will give you the idea in choosing a fun activity whether that is a sport, art show or city attraction focusing your date on something the two of you can talk about and enjoy together.

Compliment the efforts of your date for his or her hair, clothes, smile or whatever you personally notice. Compliment to show how you care enough to observe the efforts to be acceptable.

A date does not have to happen at night; it maybe in the afternoon on a weekend or holiday.

A good first date allows a flowing conversation free from any pressure to talk uneasily. Do not pretend to be someone else. It’s best to be your true self. Connect with the person by sharing your interests. Be yourself by keeping in mind that someone else is there and he/ she needs to feel important and comfortable. Be aggressive but not so flirty and not too direct when asking questions to get to know your date better.

Listen with sincerity. Listen to each other. Let the other person shine in sharing his or her tales. Allow your date to speak up for your chance to discern what makes him or her tick. It is rude talking on your cell phone during your date or checking messages while on a date. That may also give an impression that you are bored and uninterested in your date. Wait for the right time to check messages. When you answer a call, keep your talk short and tell the caller that you will get back later.

Stay confident the fact is that the person is interested enough to go on a date with you.

Watch your table manners when you dine on your date. Choose food that are not messy, smelly, or potentially embarrassing. Chew with your mouth closed. Don't drink too much alcohol.

Lighten up and have fun in your first date. Hang out for a few hours with a new acquaintance. Maintain an eye contact with your date. Men should not look at the woman's chest, it's a total turnoff. The other person will feel important and realize you are interested and paying attention to what he or she is saying.

You should pay the bill if you were the one who asked the other for the first date. Stand your ground in a gracious way even if she insists to pay.

Be realistic. Whether the date works out or not, it will be very interesting to be remembered as the person worth spending some time with.

You should be able to gauge how well the date went before you bid goodbye. If you are both interested for a second date, discuss when and stick to that plan. Don't make the person wait longer than necessary.

If things don't go well as expected, do not make a snap judgment about your date. If you honestly feel like seeing the other person again, express that feeling with sincerity.

Date safe. Don’t take the risks just because someone very especial set up the date with a virtual stranger. Do not rush intimacy. Let the relationship develop. Your first date is something to look forward to.
