Some symptoms, such as perineal pain, frequent urination, urgency, and increased nocturia, are likely to develop chronic prostatitis in young and middle-aged men. As soon as people see the word "inflammation," they will feel infection and inflammation and consider antibiotics. Patients with chronic prostatitis can use antibiotics under doctors' guidance when there is an apparent bacterial infection in patients with chronic prostatitis, and prostatic fluid bacterial culture can detect Escherichia coli, proteus bacteria, and other bacteria. Ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, roxithromycin, and other antibiotics were commonly used in the clinic. If the test urine routine or even prostate fluid, there are apparent white blood cells, men can usually use antibiotics, like quinolones antibiotics. Also, sensitive antibiotics can be used according to bacterial culture results in urine or prostatic fluid. But for chronic prostatitis, medical experts do not think that antibiotic treatment's effect must be good. Patients with chronic nonbacterial prostatitis can also consider some antibiotics' appropriate use because prostatitis patients usually have histological inflammation. However, due to the limited concentration of antibiotics reaching the prostate and blood circulation, and without effective drug concentration, it is difficult for antibiotics to play their role in the prostate. As its name implies, chronic nonbacterial prostatitis has chronic prostatitis symptoms. But because they can not find the pathogenic bacteria, so antibiotics are generally not used. In recent years, there is a new consensus on the concept of prostatitis. In the past, the treatment of chronic prostatitis focused on infection, and the treatment methods focused on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. It has developed to take "symptom" as the center and improve the symptoms and quality of life as the treatment goal. As the most common prostatitis, chronic nonbacterial prostatitis (chronic pelvic pain syndrome) accounts for about 90% of patients with prostatitis. The most troubling thing is that, so far, the cause of the disease is still unclear. Although the etiology is unknown, there are many causes of chronic prostatitis. Some bad habits, like excessive drinking alcohol, overeating stimulating food, long-term compression of the perineum, frequent repeated sexual impulse without climax, etc., may cause chronic congestion of the prostate, and induce disease. Most of the antibiotics are effective against Gram-positive bacilli causing urinary tract infection. However, the therapeutic effect is not ideal because it can not penetrate the prostate epithelium's lipid membrane and enter the prostate acinus to achieve a therapeutic effect. From the above analysis, it is not difficult to see that chronic nonbacterial prostatitis does not need antibiotic treatment. So antibiotics must be used with caution in the treatment. The treatment goal of chronic prostatitis is to relieve pain, improve urination symptoms, and improve life quality. The remission degree of symptoms is the main basis to evaluate the therapeutic effect of chronic prostatitis. Herbal medicines are mainly for symptomatic treatment. Some common and effective herbal medicines, including Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, have the functions of clearing heat and detoxification, promoting blood circulation, and removing blood stasis, can treat chronic prostatitis effectively. Besides, α - receptor blockers, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, plant preparations, and other drugs have different degrees of curative effect on relieving symptoms. Patients should follow the doctor's advice and return visits on time. Also, develop good eating habits, eat more vegetables, fruits, high alkaline food, do not eat greasy, spicy, acidic food, and quit smoking and alcohol.
