What type of hair is it made of?

As you have read before, lace wigs are made with different types of hair. For starters, there are synthetic hair wigs - which we have not talked about in this article - and natural hair, and different qualities. In our opinion, natural wigs are much less noticeable, or directly nothing, and also last longer in good condition. You can also change the type of natural hair with which our wig is made. The most common are the European, which is more expensive and of very good quality; the South American, which also has an optimal quality; the Asian, cheaper and less selected, and the Indian, who is almost never treated, but that does not have a very good texture.

Shape and style

When you start looking for a natural hair wig, you will realize that they are available in different colors and that they can wear several hairstyles: there are short, straight, curly and with bangs or without, among others. Keep in mind that a natural wig can undergo various hairdressing treatments, which can be cut and that you can also straighten or curl. In any case, our advice is that you opt for a wig that you like in the first place. That is, you should not think about the changes and improvements that you can make, but you must find one that, from the first moment, fits the structure of your face and your personal style. Later, once you "get tired" of it, you can alter it as you want.

Don't let your wig fly!

Another very important criterion to consider is the restraint of the wig. The mechanisms that anchor the wig to the scalp or head vary from one another and not all of them will adapt in the same way to your needs. Almost all-natural hair wigs are available in different sizes and most have a cap consisting of a kind of hairnet. This hairnet should be breathable - this aspect is very important - and adapt well to your head, covering the entire perimeter of the hairline, except the pins. There are also wigs that are fastened with clips or combs, and in case you opt for this option, our advice is to look for those whose tips are rounded, so that they do not nail you.

How much hair do you want to have?

As you may have deduced from the options that we presented to you at the beginning, natural hair wigs are available in different densities. Interestingly, a wig of higher density does not necessarily imply more naturalness. On the contrary, one of the reasons why many capillary systems are detectable is because they have an excessive density. Superlight density, 50%: It is too little dense in any case. Light density, 80%: This density allows the scalp to be seen, which makes it appear more natural. It is not recommended in people with severe alopecia. Light-medium density, 100%: It also shows the scalp. Suitable in cases of loss of density without baldness or severe alopecia. Average density, 120%: The density of almost all-natural hair wigs today. It does not allow us to see the scalp. Medium-heavy density, 140%: This density begins to be recommended only in cases of total hair loss. Heavy density, 160%: Very dense for everyday use, more common in the theater. The extra-heavy density of 180%: Too dense in any case, not recommended if what you are looking for is naturalness.

A heavy wig is not a good option

Think of clothes or heavy footwear that you bought on occasion or that you keep in your closet, have you used them a lot? We would dare to guess no. When an item we are wearing is not comfortable, we end up never using it or using it with disgust. Exactly the same goes for wigs. When it comes to acquiring a natural hair wig, which is normally heavier than synthetic ones, pay attention to its weight. A short hair wig should not weigh more than 100 grams; in cuts above the shoulders, 150 grams are fine, and the longer wigs should not exceed 200 grams. Remember: if you find it uncomfortable, you will end up not using it.
