On a regular basis the type of food which we consume in quantity and nutritional value is almost the same. Such a kind of food habit does not benefit us and has adverse effects on our health as we grow old.
To break this pattern of eating the same type of foods, all types of people start eating foods which are very good for their taste buds and rich in non-soluble fats, which are either too sweet or too spicy. In addition to this people also consume soft drinks and coffee regularly.
The result is that our waist line becomes bigger than before, it leads to thyroid issues and diabetes and other heart ailments. The ever increasing intake of aerated drinks coupled with decrease in intake of milk continuously in majority of the countries in the world has led to newer forms of obesity related health conce
s.
Soft drink manufacturers like the cola companies have emerged as market winners when compared to the quantity of pure water manufacturers and the milk stalls across the world over the past few years. All this ideally means is that we are consuming huge amounts of sugar and hence a resultant obesity problem.
As a fact milk and soda both of them are made up of lactose and sucrose which are sugar. But the concentration of the sugar in the cola or soda is higher when compared to naturally available milk.
In the modern day everyone is so high on sugar and fatty foods and so are ready to purchase only those food items which have these two. In a recent study conducted in the US it has been found out that the consumption of sugar and fat has gone up by 16% from what it was in 1960. A similar situation prevails in most other parts of the world namely Asia also.
The problem of obesity is prevalent all over the world and its reason is attributed to the high intake of sugar and fats. Anything cooked without oil is no longer treated as a quality food. Any cooking style for the matter namely continental, Chinese, Mexican or the plain Mac style the main ingredient is oil, sugar and salt.
Any of the food items we consume, at the time of digestion the carbohydrate in it is broken down into glucose and absorbed by the blood to give us instant energy to do our activities. During this processes some of the refined carbohydrates are absorbed by the blood at a high rate and this leads to increased sugar levels.
This kind of a situation has a negative effect on the human body, which in turn reacts too much and brings down the sugar level even below the normal limits. This sort of inconsistent sugar levels leads to tiredness, change in mood and finally obesity.
People intake sugar and fat as addicts so is the resultant obesity. Obesity leads to high cholesterol which leads to several heart ailments and other physical issues like nausea. So our taste buds get used to this kind of a food and the regular healthy food seems very tasteless evidentially. This also leads to slow down of the body’s metabolic activities.
To overcome this kind of tasteless food we start consuming sugar, fat and salt again in the form of tinned foods like soups, chocolates, sweets, ice-creams etc. These foods take a longer time to get digested. The way to escape from this self trap is controlled well balanced diet along with physical activates.
On order to stay fit and healthy, we should control our intake of salty, fatty and high sugar food. Instead, we should have regular exercise coupled with a balanced diet. However, how would we know if the diet we are following is well balanced?
