Besides writing and creating the book, you will be responsible for marketing, advertising as well as branding. Fear not, anyone can self -publish these days even on a part time basis. Self-Publishing should take time. Unfortunately, with the rise of self-publishing companies that market to the impatient you can fall into the trap of producing very poor content and see a turnaround in as little as 24 hours. There’s nothing wrong with this if you have already established your business and you have a thorough following. Perhaps you’re even creating content for your followers. Those who desire to become an Author and establish themselves in their niche should spend quality time writing their book. The obvious reasoning behind this is because you want to keep your readers interested and trusting you to produce content worthy of them paying for it. rnBe realistic. Most authors do not sell over 10,000 copies in their lifetime. This should not discourage you. Instead it should encourage you to push for your dreams by implementing a sales strategy and not being afraid to modify it. One of the most over looked aspects of being self-published is that you absolutely have to be committed and active to see success. Do not quit your day job in hopes of becoming a best seller overnight, but do expect to put in part time hours to see results. Success in self-publishing can be real if you achieve your goals. No, you don’t have to be a best-seller to be considered successful but if you decide that this is the route you want to take then know that you are also in control of your success. Self-publishing can be a rewarding business if you enjoy learning and putting into action all the knowledge out there. Just remember to stay committed and active and most importantly: creating.
