Web designing is far beyond matching color, choosing theme and loading images. This is a very vast subject that includes almost every aspect of a website. However such act greatly impacts the overall look and feel of a website. Although it is hard to separate what is important and what is unimportant in web design as web designing as a whole should be taken seriously, here are some basic yet important elements you shouldn’t ignore.

Content
No, we will not talking about the importance of content. We are all aware of the fact, but what many of us don’t know is the importance of displaying them appropriately. A piece of content will never be effective until and unless it is displayed in a catchy format, no matter how informative they are.

To display content in an effective way, it is wise to choose font size as per their importance. Get bigger size fonts for more important content. Also don’t forget to turn headlines bold. This will help user spot important sections quickly while they scan the page. Content location on the page is another aspect to be considered. Keep all relevant content in a group and important content at the top of the page so that users view them without scrolling the page too far.

Standard Conventions
It is important to know, understand and follow the idea of standard conventions. One of them is navigation bar on the top of the web page that has been developed on internet over a course of time. On the other and many people find it more sensible in having navigational hyperlinks on the right of the page and there are others who think it is better to have them on the left. By now all the ideas are in execution and users are aware of it. If now you try to go for some unique idea it will be confusing for them. Similar to this there are some other standard internet conventions like blue underlined hyperlinks, breadcrumb trials and navigation text links at the bottom of the page.

Page Noise
A web page is called noisy if it is stuffed with too many texts, links, background color, or wall images. The basic idea of a web design should be to minimize the effort of users in scanning the page. Simpler the web design, the easier it is to surf. Therefore, keep few things as minimal as possible, such as content size; types of font, size and color; number of link option; types of text link styles; background color; and wall paper images.
