Your personal energy field is constantly interacting with your surroundings. Nowhere is the reflection of your inner life revealed more clearly than in your home. The fascinating thing is that by changing the outer reflection — how a room looks and feels, for instance — you actually have the power to change how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually. In turn, more robust inner energy reaches out to attract good fortune for finances, health and relationships.

Plus, each area of your home corresponds to a specific area of your life. So, by making changes in specific rooms you can actually bring about change where you feel you need it the most. Let’s look at some examples:

Front entrancer
Your home’s front entrance symbolizes how you present yourself to the world. A welcoming entrance can help attract good fortune into your home – and your life. If your front entrance is neglected or messy, however, it can actually repel good fortune, success and overall well-being. So take a look! Make sure there are no obstacles that one has to walk around to enter your home. This could symbolize obstacles arising in your life. Also make sure your front door doesn’t stick — this reflects a life that is stuck. Keep your front entrance fresh, tidy and well-maintained and you’ll create energy that supports a sense of expansion and feeling welcomed in your world.

Bedroomr
Your bedroom symbolizes the way you perceive your inner self. This room is your personal sanctuary where you go to regenerate and take rest at the end of the day. It is also where we go to reconnect with our partners. This room should be free from any distractions and disturbances. If you suffer from low self-esteem, check to make sure your bedroom is not too dark. Instead, use lighter colors and perhaps introduce full spectrum lighting which mimics the sun’s natural rays. At the other extreme, your bedroom may be too bright. This can reflect an inner sense that you are always too busy to take time for yourself. If this is the case, introducing warm colors and using soft curtains to take away some of the harshness and brightness can give the bedroom more of a sanctuary feel – which in turn will easy the rush and busy-ness you feel in your life.
Kitchenr
According to Vaastu (Indian Feng Shui), the kitchen is considered the stomach of the home. While you never want a messy, cluttered kitchen, a kitchen where there is little food or where the food has gone stale can reflect a life where finances are tight and there is little gathering or celebrating with others. Is your refrigerator well-ordered and stocked with fresh, nutritious food? Is the kitchen bright, clean and well-organized? Take a look – because the more you do to make your kitchen into a room where it’s a pleasure to prepare and eat healthy food, the more you do to create a life that nourishes you and your family physically, emotionally and financially.

Bathroomr
Do you hold onto the past? Do you hold grudges? Is there a toxic relationship you just can’t let go? Is there a painful memory you can’t get over or someone you can’t forgive? Take a look at what’s going on in your bathroom! This room symbolizes your ability to release what no longer serves you. So, start with what’s stored in the bathroom – get rid of old cosmetics, outdated medicines and anything that is no longer needed. This can energetically help you release things from your life that are not serving your best interests. Cleaning a bathroom helps too because the simple act of cleaning helps with renewing and purifying yourself.

Make sure the plumbing in your bathroom works correctly since water represents your emotions. For instance, if you are feeling emotionally constricted, you may find that your sink backs up. An overflowing toilet could mean you might have repressed feelings. A leaking faucet could mean a constant drain on your emotions.
Truly, your home mirrors how you feel about yourself and how others perceive you. However, it’s a two-way mirror! Changing the energy in particular rooms can reflect back and change your inner life, too.
