Interesting – I was talking to a client earlier on and we were talking about goals and I asked the questio
“what is it you actually want”. The answer was extremely unfocused; the client in question listing about half a dozen ‘things’. So I said let’s just focus on what is it you really want – the answer then was quite simple – to lose at least a stone in weight by the summer.
So I asked ‘what’s stopping you’ and I got hit with a load of excuses.
And it got me to thinking that no matter the situation or issue; it’s always the same. You either give excuses for not accomplishing something or there are obstacles. And there are only really 2 of them – lack of information and lack of skill(s).
You see the thing is that if you really want something, you will do whatever it is to overcome that obstacle. Anything else is an excuse.
Let me break it down for your
You have a goal – say it’s to improve your business and make some money.
You don’t know where to start – so you’re lacking information. Well what would you do? You’d find out as much as you could by talking to people who knew. People who would be experts – but you might not be able to afford their services – but if you really wanted this goal you’d somehow find the money somewhere and as a backup you could look on the net and get some ‘free’ information. There’s always a way – if you really want itr
So you’d then have the informationr
But you might find that you need a particular skill – so you’d find out where you could get that skill. And you’d find the money to pay for it.
So you now have the information and the skill – so now nothing’s stopping you achieving is there?
Then of course you might have a belief – a belief that perhaps you couldn’t do it; that’s it’s too difficult – but we’ve just worked out that you can find the information and get the skills so that doesn’t really work.
Maybe you don’t have the energy, you’re too tired, it’s too much effortr
Maybe you’re not really motivated.
Maybe you don’t have the time, you don’t have the money and maybe you’re just too scared.
Aren’t they all, apart from the lack of information and the skill, excuses?
If you want something enough you’ll overcome anything to get what you want if you really truly want it; so the next question has to be ; how much do you want it?
Like my client who ‘said’ he wanted to lose weight but wasn’t really even making an effort. His excuses were he was too tired when he came home at the end of the day to cook a proper meal – he lives on his own – so he’ll get fish and chips, or a curry. It’s the same excuse at lunchtime – he’s not near somewhere he can get a decent ‘non fattening’ lunch . Incidentally this client also has money issues claiming he’s always broke yet spends masses on the latest must-have gadgets and all this take away food!!
We’re currently working together to change his mind set on what he believes about himself.
All the above excuses are negative ideas around self belief. When you believe in yourself and have confidence in yourself everything in your life works. The weight falls off (you don’t over-eat or eat junk because you don’t want to, you have more energy and so you can devote yourself to doing more business, being more creative, you’re more open to ideas and opportunities, and consequently success and money starts flowing in and your relationships improve as well. It’s a total Win-win situation.
But you have to start with the mind set – change that and miracles will occur in your life.
I can help you change that mind-set and achieve every single goal you set your heart on

About the Author
It’s always difficult writing these sorts of things; not that I don't have anything to say but sometimes I feel that people will see it as hype or 'precious'. I hope by reading my articles and looking at my website you'll see more of what/who I am- the truth (if you will) behind the name and qualifications.
I've been on my own personal development journey for many years, discovering, learning and studying with some of the very best experts in their fields.
I’ve always worked in a people environment; firstly in face to face sales and telesales (both business and consumer) and then as an HR Manager and Office Manager. So it seemed a natural progression for me to move from training sales teams and advising executives to becoming a personal development coach.
I believe very much that unless you re-programme your negative beliefs and thoughts you'll never 'move on' and that could be with relationships, weight loss, health, career, money.
Using the very powerful and effective processes of NLP, Hypnosis, Theta Healing and EFT I motivate and steer people toward living the lives they want rather than what they 'should' or been told to. This gives them the opportunity to truly live the life they deserve.
I believe that what we put out there we get back and the only way to improve our lives is by ‘reprogramming’ our mindset.
The 3 greatest internal blocks people have are fear, self doubt and procrastination. When we release those we can be, do, have whatever it is we truly desire.
Like a computer when the 'hardware' isn't congruent with the 'software' no advancement can be made when we are out of sync; and it's the same with our brains. If we say one thing – and believe in our subconscious something totally, different we’ll never make the changes we think we want. Our thoughts and beliefs are what makes us tick so whatever the issue whether it’s relationships, work/career, money, self esteem, confidence; I help people look at what is holding them back and help them release those ties enabling them to go forward with whatever it is they desire. . But it can be a very painful process, the letting go, and people have to be ready and willing to make the changes. Affirmations are wonderful tools but useless without that one major ingredient – Action!
So Action, consistency and commitment - make it happen -
Persistence + Confidence = Success
My greatest joy is seeing the transformation when someone releases their blocks and moves forward.
