With all of the commotion over the environmental impact of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, it is a wonder we don't start using alte
ative sources of oil. Perhaps these lessons bring us closer to using "greener" fuels. With discontentment comes change. We don't have to use oil that has a negative impact on our oceans and cause pollution. Shifting over to environmentally friendly sources of fuel causes quite a stir in the lucridive oil business and we wonder how many palms are "greased" to keep the greener fuel sources out of the common marketplace.
On another note, many of us connect fat or oils as bad for us. Our body actually requires oils to perform at its peak. We need to be "greased" internally with essential fatty acids not polluted with trans fats and environmental pollution. A recent study published in the journal of Applied Research showed that those who ate less starch and more healthy fats in the form of nuts and olive oil, along with fresh produce and lean proteins actually reduced their insulin levels (blood sugar) which leads to increased longevity (lifespan). Healthy fats are good for us? What great news!
Some healthy fats are used as supplements that contai
Omega 3, 6 and 9. The most popular ones are those such as flaxseed, fish, borage and evening primrose oil. Here are just a few benefits of each type of oil:
Fish oil is a source of Omega 3 fatty acid and is great for cardiovascular health, relieves joint pains, supports the immune system, aids in cognitive function, mood and ADHD symptoms.
Borage and Evening Primrose Oil is a source of Omega 6 fatty acid. I particularly like one supplement called GLA240 which contains a high amount of Gamma Linolenic Acid. It is a wonderful product that helps with PMS symptoms and skin problems such as acne, eczema and other skin eruptions.
Flaxseed is a super fat source. I prefer the ground flax because the lignans help protect against various forms of cancer such as prostate, breast and colon.
Let's nourish our body with healthy fats and push for the use of alte
ative fuels to protect ourselves and our planet.
