"If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun" ~ Katharine Hepbu rnMany of us spend a lot of time thinking about the future. We try to get things right. We set goals for ourselves and work hard to strive for them and we often do reach them. Consider where you were just one year ago. Look at how much has changed? Look at all of the things that you brought into your life! Based on where you were just one year ago, is your life going in the direction you want? Do you ever wonder why some goals seem out of reach? You know the ones that are at the bottom of the to-do list and have a sort of nagging feeling about them... Are those goals based on shoulds? Consider your life and how much time you spend doing things that you like to do. Grab a pen and make a quick list of one day, one week and write out all of the activities or time spent with people that bring you joy. Is there fun in your life? Are you fun to live with? Yes, we have children and work responsibilities but we think we have to do this and we have do that and somewhere in there we forget we have a choice. Rushing through life can feel like a burden of just getting through the day, the week. But what if we removed the need to do things and replaced it with wanting to do things - how would your life change? Imagine now that you are able to do all of the things you want to do. Imagine that you are in harmony with the moment and able to give 100% of your attention to work and 100% to your family. How does this feel? Do you feel good? Listen to the radio interview about Work/Life Balance for more. We have all heard about the law of attraction and that what we focus on and put energy into is attracted into our lives. Therefore if you are unhappy about a situation in your life ask yourself what am I contributing to this situation? And then choose a behaviour that moves you toward feeling good. Choose to hug your child, smile at a stranger, turn on some music, sing, dance, yoga, exercise, whatever makes you feel good! Now, imagine yourself one year from now and reminisce about all that you have been blessed with and created in your life this year and feel really good about it! All is really possible!
