Kerala is known better as God’s own country. This is because of its natural beauty full of everything one would want to explore – green semi-plains, ecstatic beaches, highly vegetated and trimmed hills, backwaters, wildlife and more. There is so much in Kerala that you would need much time to explore it all. The best way to make the most of Kerala is to know what all is available and then plan accordingly. This article covers backwaters, beaches and hill stations. Kerala Backwaters Tour Backwaters are the water regions formed alongside the Arabian Sea coast. This is also known as the Malabar Coast. In total, there are five big lakes linked by 38 fresh water rivers and canals. These lakes are linked to other lakes and the Arabian Sea via both manmade and natural canals. The Kerala Backwaters tour consists of travelling through to and fro the lakes via these canals and rivers. While travelling through the canals and lakes parallel to Arabian Sea, you get to see the diverse and rich cultures of different towns legendary to Kerala. The backwaters also offer a rich transport system for ferrying people to places. Another use of backwaters is to transport goods to and fro the ocean liners in the Arabian Sea. However, the best use is to simply enjoy what the nature has to provide to the people travelling via these lakes. You get to see the greenery and colorful flowers, people and temple towns alongside the coasts. Some canals are also full of vegetation that is visible to eye and hence to the camera you might be carrying. You get to see a rich aquatic life that has been well preserved. Even with the blooming tourist and transport industry, you can see different variety of crabs, frogs, water birds – kingfisher, terns, darters etc. Kerala Backwaters tour can be divided into parts starting from 9 hours tour to 2 days tours. Actually, the durations vary per tour providers so you need to see who will give you best for your bucks. Kerala Beach Tour While on Kerala tour, you need to go for the Kerala Beach Tour. The beach tour is a little different from the backwaters tour as you will be touring and exploring the Malabar Coast instead of moving only through the inland waterways. This means you will also be travelling through the Arabian Sea at points. The culture is diverse and varies from beach to beach. The legacy of each beach is different and will leave a lasting impression in your mind. The tour is a refreshing change that one can bring to his or her own life. Kerala Hill Station Tour If you visit Kerala, you should also go on the Kerala Hill Station tour. There are plenty of hill stations – providing you cool views and fresh air. A stay at one or more places will fill you with fresh energy. The famous hill stations in Kerala are – Munnar, Ramakalmedu, Rajamala, Vagamon, Pullumedu, Vandanmedu, Chellarkovil and Puttamala. Each hill station is unique with its own offerings so make sure you take out time to visit each of these heavens in God’s own country.
