People prefer to choose a smartphone for various flexible reasons like camera, internet, touch screen, etc. More than the inbuilt functionalities of the phone, the main attraction for the smartphone users are the various mobile apps that are developed customized for specific needs. It is a known fact in the industry that Android and iPhone holds a major share as the market competitors for mobile apps development though Windows and Blackberry are also in the race. Android and iPhone platforms act like pillars from great giants Google and Apple Inc respectively. One cannot deny the fact that Android apps development and iPhone application development are the fields focused by most of the Mobile Application Development company. Each platform has its own advantages and restrictions for developing useful apps in various categories. The Android is an open source without posing any restriction for the entry of apps into the store, while iPhone apps has to be approved by jury for reaching the Apple store. The Android application development also has the advantage of using the Google features like map, Gmail etc. The iPhone application development scores the name in the development of rich games. From user's point of view, the iPhone is the best choice since all the apps meet the standard and has consistent navigation style with intuitive user interface. The users who are more interested in battery life and power tend to choose the Android platform, while the iPhone platform provides better resolution with good inbuilt memory. The user can find more free Android apps in the market though more number of iPhone apps are available. In developer's point of view, iPhone Application Development is more complicated than Android application development. The use of Objective-C with iPhone is bit tougher when compared to the known Java programming with Android. The process for iPhone application development is also lengthier and frustrating with need for app submission for review before publishing into the app store. Comparatively, the Android Application Development is simple, easy, and flexible. The Android has lots of well organized resources for reference of the developers. The resources provided by the Apple seems to be little time-consuming process. Interestingly, the Apple's development tool is flexible for finding and fixing the memory leaks to improve the performance of the app. Despite of various complications associated with iPhone apps development, the developers still tend to choose the iPhone platform since it provides more quality apps than Android. The iPhone apps has the greatest advantage of reaching more countries worldwide with a single approval into the app store.
