Religion is a core part of our culture in India. So, we may have a religious or a spiritual Guru that we follow as he inspires us. Our inspiration may even come from our parents, a family member, a friend or a co-worker. Those who inspire us leave a deep imprint on our psyche. When in great need, we all of a sudden remember their wise words or advice that gets us through! But do they influence our daily actions and the gazillion opinions we have been forming since childhood? It may be surprising to realize that we have opinions about things that we did not even realize we have opinions about, and which are useless and causing nothing but harm in our life. So, is there someone in our life who clears out such cobwebs and gives us clearer vision on a daily basis? Is there some spiritual personality in our life who influences us at the core of our being? rnParam Pujya Dada Bhagwan, Shri Ambalal Muljibhai Patel (also lovingly addressed as Dadashri), is one such spiritual master who answers questions like what is the purpose of life, who runs this world, why do bad things happen to good people, etc.? and more, in a simple, yet straightforward manner. Those with barely any education and those with Doctorate degrees are all equally enlightened by Param Pujya Dadashri’s knowledge of Self-Realization. Let’s look at few of his eye-opening quotes for example: “What is the meaning of difference of opinions? It is to clash (bump) with a wall. If we hit our head, is it the wall’s fault or ours?” At a time of conflict, we always hold the other person at fault, don’t we? Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan gives an example of we bumping into a wall. Wall, being an inanimate object, will remain where it is. Therefore, we adjust and walk around it to avoid the clash, correct? According to Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, we should apply the same principle to living beings. When our opinion clashes with someone else’s, adjust to their viewpoint and find a way around the clash. After all, banging your head against the wall will not get you anywhere, similarly clashing with others’ opinions can never be helpful. Instead, find a way around it through compromise and adjustment. Adjust everywhere and avoid clash. How simple is that! rnLet’s look at another such life-changing quote of Dadashri. “In a true sense, the world is not to be won. The home (family) needs to be won.” If you think about it, you will realize that most of your daily conflicts center around your home and family. Not big conflicts mind you, but they are those small ones that we at first do not even recognize as conflicts. In order to find permanent happiness in our daily life, it is important to recognize those conflicts and resolve them with adjustment and compromise. Once we learn to adjust at home and resolve these conflicts, our home will indeed feel like heaven on earth. Is that not what we are all after? Peace and harmony with our loved ones? After all, home is where our heart is. rnHere is one more that will make you feel light as a feather! “Worrying is the greatest egoism!” In today’s competitive and materialistic world, everyone worries about future and the what-ifs instead of living in the present. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says there is infinite happiness in the present. But we ruin it by worrying about the future that is not in our control. Negative emotions such as worry are detrimental since they do not provide any solutions at all, rather they breed even more negativity. Instead, we should constantly remain in the present and deal with any future problem, only if and when it arises. This way, we do not miss out on enjoying the present happiness. Such simple and straight-forward principles with power to change our core beliefs and behavior!rnWe fight, clash and worry without realizing the long-term consequences. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan explains cause and result of such actions with simple real-life examples and gives us clear vision of Self-Realization.
