Which washing machine is better: with front or vertical loading of laundry

In Europe, washing machines with front loading were widely used. Another type of washing machine is with the top load of the laundry. Such models are also very popular in Europe, especially in France. Instead of "top loading," sometimes they say "vertical", and the machines themselves are called "verticals" for simplicity. Machines with top loading do not have a window. There are sashes for loading of laundry, which are locked with a light mechanical lock. In the "advanced" models of washing machines with top loading there are devices due to which the drum stops with the flaps after washing. This is convenient: you do not need to turn the drum by hand to remove the laundry. Such devices are called drum parking systems (brand names Drum Up for machines Whirlpool, Posistop for Gorenje machines, "Stop-loading" for Candy machines). Both a front and a vertical machine have a perforated drum with laundry in a water tank. But for a front-loading machine, the shaft on which the drum rotates is only present on the rear of the drum, since there is simply no front bottom of the drum - linen is loaded into the drum through the front end. And the machine with the top loading - two shafts, symmetrically located on both sides of the drum. Machines of both types have the same service life, and different ways of fastening the drum are of no decisive importance. Each type of washing machine has its pros and cons. Let's start with the geometry of the case. Frontal machines (except for compact ones, such as Eurosoba, Candy Holiday and others, 46 cm wide) have a width of 60 cm and depth from 60 cm for full-sized machines to 42 - 45 for narrow and even 32-35 cm for ultra-low models. The upper cover of the body of such machines is flat (all controls are on the front wall) and can serve as a table top for placing utensils, which is in the bathroom - a basin with linens, etc. With the machine in which the laundry is loaded from above, it does not work. If there is not enough space to place the machine, the decisive argument in favor of a machine with vertical loading can be, firstly, its dimensions: width - 40 cm, depth - 60 cm, and also the fact that there is no need to have a reserve of space to open the loading hatch. In short, the decision to choose the type of washing machine should be taken literally based on the "circumstances of the place". Neither a set of functions, nor indicators of the efficiency of washing or spinning one type of machine is not prevalent.
