Who discovered Love?

Before we discuss what the origin of love is and who discovered it, let us try and gather what is called the real and meaningful love. Love is not a tangible product, and hence is not visible. Yet everyone understands love, for love is what one feels within. When we love someone, we just can't get them off our mind, for the bond of love gives us a sense of comfort, well-being and a feeling of happiness that does not seem to be dying! In common parlance, love is often referred to as ‘a romantic sexual attraction’. However, there are many different types of love that exist in life. Right from childhood, as we grow up, we receive love from various frontiers, and depending on the emotion with which the person loves us and we love them, we call it an affectionate love, a friendly love, an empathetic love, a playful love, an obsessive love, enduring Love, self Love,... and the most important one - the selfless, unconditional love!! By preoccupying ourselves with romantic love, one generally neglects the other types of love that are more readily provided to us, and which in the longer term, prove more healing and fulfilling too. The romantic love is a state of temporary attraction. Whereas, real love is one that never breaks under any circumstances. This is the true test of love. rnReal love is unconditional love. Unconditional means there are neither expectations nor limitations set for this love; it is Pure Love. Such love sees no gender, it is free from all craving and aversion and is void of anger, pride, greed and every kind of deceit too. rnThe worldly love, no matter how much we try to purify, impurities to some extent will remain in it. Whereas Pure Love is the Absolute Self. Absolute Self refers to the Pure Soul that resides within every living being on this earth. This is the only location where complete peace and harmony exists. When all sorts of negativity gets removed from within us, the real positivity is what remains then. Real positivity is the real nature of Self and that is Pure Love.rnWhat is the origin of such love? Who discovered it? rnThe origin of such love is found in the heart of Gnani, the Enlightened One!!! The Soul of Gnani is awakened; He always resides in the Absolute Self and therefore is the embodiment of Pure Love. This is the only place where our heart really rests, for Gnani’s love remains constant, irrespective of the mistakes we make. And the beauty is that our worldly life runs even more smoothly and harmoniously then. rnGnani has the divine power to bring us in awareness of our real Self by giving us the required knowledge of Self. We then realize through our experience that, ‘Yes, I am not this body, I am not this name, I am Pure Soul.” rnOur real effort to generate pure love within us begins only when Gnani makes us realize our real Self, and inspires us to move beyond our current addiction to romantic or passionate love that binds and makes us selfish and helps us reside in Pure Love that frees and makes us selfless forever. Pure Love fosters love in every relationship, be it between parent and child or between husband and wife, between boss and employee, or between the best of friends in life; for where there is Pure love, the lust for possession of ‘one’ gets transformed into a desire to serve ‘all’, be it our family members or distant strangers in the Universe. It is upto us now to find this Pure Love of Gnani, surrender ourself in His feet and ask Him to give us the experience that we’ve never experienced before!!
