Brain cancer is a complicated growth of infected abnormal cells in one of the most vital parts of the body- the brain. The disorder is highly fatal and may also hamper thinking and acting abilities of a person if the tumors are not controlled in time. Also the chances of better brain cancer survival rate are high if the tumors are detected early and treated with apt form of brain cancer treatment. Brain cancer diagnosis is an attempt to confirm presence of cancer cells in brain or adjacent areas and understand their future course. It a process by which the brain cancer symptoms are examined seriously and identification of root-cause of cancerous growth is carried out. It also attempts to identify the brain cancer stage so that the treatment process can be initiated accordingly. Brain cancer detection is important because it helps to understand the pattern of tumor-growth and the approximate time they may take to metastasize to other areas of the body. Detection helps to trace the location and size of tumors. Tumors can be either cancerous or non-cancerous (benign) in nature and impact the victim’s body accordingly. Benign tumors are less dangerous as they are not of malignant nature and do not involve in killing brain tissues and cells. Such tumors may turn cancerous if not treated aptly. Cancerous tumors are the main destroyers of healthy cells and tissues functioning in brain areas and hamper the supply of basic resources to various areas of brain. This also impacts efficient flow of blood to the areas and causes further health issues making the area highly prone to rapid cancerous growth. Brain cancer is mostly secondary in nature though the growth may be primary in rare cases. Primary growth of tumors is a kind of cell abnormality arising in brain areas itself and the infected cells may club up to form tumors at a later stage. Such tumors may be benign in the initial stages but may soon turn cancerous and start to metastasize. Secondary growth is a kind of malignant infection arising on other areas of the body and the polyps have chances of reaching brain areas once they begin to spread or metastasize. Brain cancer diagnosis and detection pattern is based mainly on the form of tumors and the kind of brain cancer a victim is suffering from. Basic Brain Cancer Diagnosis Methods Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan is basic brain cancer detection method wherein an internal color image of brain is obtained for further inspection. Computed tomography (CT) scan is also a kind of imaging method to get a clear picture of internal developments occurring in brain areas. Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) scan and Single-photo Emission computed Tomography (SPECT) are also useful brain cancer detection methods. Complete or targeted biopsy, X-rays and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) test can also be executed for instant and reliable brain cancer diagnosis. Brain cancer diagnosis should be considered seriously as the overall process of treatment is based on the timing and quality of diagnosis undergone. Brain cancer detection can be executed in various patterns and depends mainly on the size and location of tumors.
