Black hat SEO means using techniques to get higher ranking in search engine results in an unethical way. Any technique that breaks the rules and regulations of search engine, creates poor user experiences, or includes content in a different visual/non-visual manner for search engine spiders, are called black hat techniques.

Any of such practices can panelize you at heavy cost. Despite of knowing the fact, many SEO executives practice black hat SEO just to get better ranking for special keywords. There can be three major reasons:

Unrealistic Targets

The primary reason behind the act could be the pressure of performing better and better in minimalistic time. Many SEO service providers, promise their clients to rank their sites at the top of the search list and that too in stipulated time. When they feel that all attempts are going in vain, black hat appears to be the only way out for them. This is most common among the SEO executive who do not realize the level of competition for the particular product and services, and give their words to the clients.

Lacking Patience

SEO needs a huge patience. Websites pages appearing on the top of the search results did not appear in overnight. It needs months of hard work, practices knowledge and skills. Often it takes several months and the page does not appear even on the last page. But, not all can retain their patience and give up one day, attempting for black hat. It is important to understand that every website providing product and services have different level of competition on web and so if your earlier project started showing results within a month, doesn’t mean the current project will behave the same.

Unawareness

Not all SEO executives do it intentionally. In fact, many of them don’t know that they are practicing black hat techniques. Most often people are penalized before they actually realize the truth. This is because they are unaware of the black hat practices. They stuff number of keywords in their web page HTML tags that exceed the limitation which unknowingly comes under unethical act. According to the SEO executives this not unethical as stuffing of keywords is valid but they ignore the number of keywords stuffed.

No matter if black hat is practiced intentionally or unintentionally, the consequences will be equal for both of the categories. Don’t forget the fact that the primary target of search engines is to provide most relevant and refined search results for users. The moment search engines realize that any website is not meeting the standard, they will immediately penalize the site by declaring it spam or send it to send box.
