Why does God let bad karma accumulate in our record and then condemn us later? Isn't it better to stop it from happening in the first place?

First of all, it is important to understand how karmas get generated. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan explains that while we are experiencing the effects of our previous karmas, owing to our ignorance, new seeds of karma get sown by us. rnFor instance, say, someone insults us. Now, ignorant of the fact that this insult is actually a fruit of my past karma, we get angry and internally decide to pay the person back. This is when the new seeds of bad karma get sown automatically. As our spiritual development increases, we realize that the intention of taking revenge is not good, for doing so we bind bad karmas. And therefore we choose to remain calm and knowingly ignore the insult. When we succeed in not allowing any bad intention to arise for the person from whom came the insult, we do not bind any new bad karma. Hence, if we understand the law of karma correctly, we ourselves are able to stop the bad karma from accumulating in our record, in the first place. S: Up until now, I used to think that God was responsible for all this. Dadashri: No. The responsibility is your own. You are wholly and solely responsible. rnAnd in case, we couldn’t succeed in stopping the bad karma, until we are aware that I did this mistake, we still have a recourse in the form of ‘pratikraman’ to wash off the bad karma that has got bound. Hence, rn1. awareness that ‘I made this mistake’, rn2. followed by pratikraman to wash off that mistake, rnis a formula by which we can minimize the bad karma from accumulating in our record. What is pratikraman? Pratikraman means asking for forgiveness whenever we engage ourselves in negative thought, speech or action and hurt the other person. We sincerely and heartily apologize to the Pure Soul (God) within that person/people towards whom that negativity is directed, and resolve to never repeat such a mistake again. This process, called Pratikraman, will help wash off our mistake. How do we stop binding new karma? Param Pujya Dadashri explains that the only way out of this endless cycle of karma is complete non-doership, which can be achieved only when our Ahankara (ego) is entirely destroyed. The complete egoless state can be achieved in the light of the true knowledge of the Self. This knowledge happens when we attain Self-Realization with the grace of the Enlightened being, and understand that ‘I am nothing but a Pure Soul.’ The sowing of new karmic seeds is caused due to our wrong belief of ‘I am the doer.’ After Self-Realization, whatever good or bad speech, thought or action happens, we are able to maintain awareness that this is the effect of causes sown in previous lives, and I, as a Soul, am only the knower and Seer of it, and thereby we remain free from binding any new karma!!
