I want to talk about why you live the way you do:

You constantly search for something to give you happiness.
Your relationships alone won’t give you happiness so you want more.
You think a job will give you a sense of accomplishment and money.
You work very hard and spend a lot of time to gain accomplishment and money.
The sense of accomplishment is still not enough.
You look to money to make you happy.
You think that money can give you value and bring you respect.
You may or may not gain money or respect, but it still isn’t enough.
Your life is complicated because you try to do many things.
The reason you try to do so many things is because you think it will increase your chance for happiness.
When you try to do so many things, there are a lot of other things you don’t have time to do.
Life becomes even more complicated trying to manage the things you want, need, have to do, and must do.
So, you really just spend your time managing your things and what you feel you need to do.
The idea of happiness gets buried between the management of your time, goals and things.
You still don’t feel any happier so you go in search of something to make you happy. . .
Sooner or later, you are running in circles. Looking everywhere and finding nothing. Trying everything but balancing very little. Your life has gone out of ncontrol. So you start telling yourself that extrinsic things can bring you happiness. They can’t. Lasting happiness comes from the intrinsic things like self love and self respect.

If your life is not fulfilling, it’s time to look at your life from another perspective and make better choices. Don’t just look at one or two aspects of your life. When you look at your life in compartments, you don’t get the full picture. If you can’t see the full picture, you cannot balance your life. If you don’t balance your life, you won’t reach fulfillment.
