Closing down your office to move to a new office is a big decision for any company. Cubicle space, window offices, executive suites, conference rooms then there's other things like car parking facilities and the local area.
The choice of commercial real estate is endless, as is the choice of location. And with all of this choice, where should a company start?
So if you are thinking about relocating your company to a new US office then you might find that Texas could be an ideal location for your company. Hot, humid and vast; Texas is the perfect location for any business.
There's Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth and Austin, which all have prominent areas that are ideally suited to a company that has just moved into the area.
But now I should perhaps go into a little more detail and discuss some of the specific example of taking a Texan office. So here are a few of the key benefits.
1. Texas has a capital with an increasingly large population and economy. The population of Texas' capital, Austin, is at the present time around 790,000 people, so you'll never have a shortage of customers or of employees. After a competitio
Austin was also named the second Best Big City in "Best Places to Live" 5 years ago by Money magazine and according to Travel magazine ranks as number 1 on a list of key cities with the best people.
2. Texas office space is rich and plentiful. Affordable pricing, stylish interiors and versatile floor space make it one of the top office locations in the United States. As a result, the state's office space is home to 3 of the Fortune 500 companies - Forestar Group, Whole Foods Market, and Freescale Semiconductor.
3. Texas has great weather. It has a sub-tropical climate which means it inhabitants experience mild winters and hot summers. This makes it extremely ideal for employees that would prefer to avoid the cold on their way to work. Texan's also love the area which is extremely relaxing and chilled out as it has an average rainfall and temperature that can be ideal for families. It also means that your employees will be able to install a luxury pool that can be used all year round.
4. The state of Texas is a fantastic choice for technology and defence companies due to a recent upsurge of Texan graduates from the local university. This fact has lead to the state becoming a key player in the technology sector as it is the location of many of the big technology companies such as Apple, AMD and Google. This means that Texas and the surrounding area is therefore well-suited to a company that would thrive with a lot of networking opportunities. For example, my old firm recently took a Dallas Office and it meant they could meet execs from a lot of rival companies and develop contacts.
5. The music festivals and art in Texas really make it a cultural hotspot. There is a motto for the state capital of Texas, Austin, which is "The Live Music Capital of the World", this one phrase reflect how musically vibrant the city is. Austin also has a great night-life, especially on 6th Street and the city's South by Southwest annual film and music festival attracts an endless amount of tourists every year. All of these tourists could be potential customers for your company.
These points tell me that even though Texas might not be the most high profile state in the United States, such as New York, but it's certainly a fantastic choice for professional real estate.
