Why the Photo You Use for Socail Media Matters

It is common knowledge that people buy from people they like and trust right? If you know that and one of the reasons you are participating in the chatter on Social Media sites is because you would like to establish relationships that may end up helping you generate more traffic to your website, and potentially increased sales there are a few things you need to consider. 1. Is your photo an accurate depiction of you? Does your photo really look like you, if I was standing beside you looking at you and looking at the photo would I see the same person? 2. Is your photo a good photograph of your face or is it a distance photograph where it is difficult for me to really see you? 3. Is your photo a professional photo or did someone take it at a party and you just really like how you look? It takes longer to build relationships on line and develop trust than it does in person. If your objective is to utilize Social Media sites to build relationships that take on line relationships and turn them into potential leads that result in sales you need to pay attention. I will say it again for you in case you are not clear. People buy from people they like and trust. In the online world there are a few ways you can create transparency that allows others to like and trust you more. This is what I recommend: 1. A current photo of your face that is easily recognizable. I am talking I see you at the grocery store and you actually look like that person. 2. A transparent bio that tells people a bit about who you are, and if I were to google your name, I would find content to support what you have told me in your bio. This content supports your message and builds trust. 3. A real live website with a real email address where I can contact you. If you do not have a website, and do not have an email address that is not @hotmail.com where people can contact you then you minimize trust. When you have a real site, and a way I can contact you, it makes me feel more secure in who you are. 4. Be response-able. When someone sends you a message: Respond! The best way to increase trust is to interact and build relationships. When someone asks you a question, answer it. When someone pays you a complement, thank them. At the end of the day, some people get this and do a brilliant job of interacting and building relationships on line while others hide behind obscurity and create a sense of distrust. The more things you deliberately do to build relationships, and make it easy for people to like and trust you, the easier it will be for you to attain your objectives.
