Why Tumblr Ban the NSFW Content?

For a lot of people, Tumblr was the most important source of adult content. Unfortunately for those persons, at the end of 2018 the company decided to eliminate all the adult content from its site. In some situations, the ban might feel a bit unjust, but it’s something that was a long time coming to be honest. And then out of nowhere you have this ban on adult content that really took Tumblr users by surprise. Some sources state that it’s Apple which forced Tumblr’s hand. They banned the official Tumblr app from the app store because there was some child pornography reported on the platform. And that’s when they started to work on this, to ensure that the app gets back to the app store and its customers. That being said, it was the beginning of the end, because they soon realized that any adult content will eventually bring to the removal of the app from any store. So it makes a lot of sense for them to step away from that. Granted, most of the user base enjoys this type of content, so obviously this is a very big hit for the platform. Tumblr is relying on automated tools to identify the adult content, and people are using these systems in check in a very good manner. They had to implement this kind of approach unfortunately because it’s pretty much needed considering the ban from Apple. Sure, this pretty much disrupts the entire culture created around adult content on Tumblr. But as always, people will find a way to enjoy the stuff they want, and in this case that means new platforms that they can use to share this kind of content. A lot of users are looking for Alternatives to Tumblr, so the situation is pretty dire in this situation. It’s not as bad as you might imagine, but it can totally become better in the long run, provided that we tackle it correctly and with the utmost focus on value and results. It totally works and you can adjust and adapt it the best way that you can in no time. Whether Tumblr will survive this or not, it’s hard to say. But they should be more cautious with this thing, because you do want to generate more exposure and increase your user base, and this ban did the opposite.
