Why You Need an SEO Only Once
Why you only need an SEO one time for your website and choosing the wrong SEO can have you sandbagged for weeks.
Lets cut to the chase; an SEO or Search Engine Optimizer, is a person or persons who pick apart your website and organize the site so that search engines will spider your site correctly. They'll ensure that there are proper tags and titles and that each page can stand on its own.
SEO services are a one-time deal. Again, the "SEO" is basically someone who comes to your site and organizes it into a clear, concise manner. Once this is completed there is no more need for an "SEO". What people fail to realize is that the term SEO is thrown around so much the actual term has become synonymous with "getting your site to page 1 of Google". Well that's only a small part of it.
Did you know that an SEO's (Search Engine Optimizer) job can be completed in as little as an hour depending upon the size of your website? Did you also know that Google is not the only search engine to maximize a site's potential for? There are well over 400 other search engines vying to be the next Google and they want your listing just as bad to grow their database of searchable sites.
The person or person you should be looking to hire are "SEMs" or Search Engine Marketers. These are the people truly responsible for marketing your website and getting the branding and link process started. An SEM will find places where your site needs to be placed in order to grab a foothold for the keywords the SEO should have instituted for your pages.
Here is the order in which website marketing works:
1. Hire an SEM to build a keyword report for your site and also a keyword campaign and a backlink traffic analysis that your competition is using for placement.
2. Hire an SEO (unless the SEM does this) to maximize your pages potential using the keyword list FOR EACH PAGE. That's right - each page has its own keyword set.
3. The SEM then creates a campaign for each page - not just the site by itself... every single page should be in the marketing campaign.
This article will probably get some blowback by so-called "SEOs", but when you think of the terminology and the acronym, you get the idea of the difference between an SEO and a true Internet marketer, the SEM.
