Why you should have a bucket list

When you are young, it seems as if there is always something to look forward to. From the weekend to a birthday party, summer vacation to Disney World there is always an event on the horizon. However, as you age it seems as if there are fewer events to look forward to. Birthdays just symbolize one year added to your life, there is no summer vacation and most weekends are a time to catch up on chores around the house. As human beings though it is extremely important to have something in the distant future to drum up excitement. There needs to be something you work towards, to talk to friends about, to plan for. This is where a bucket list comes in. A bucket list includes objects you want to see, places you want to visit and foods you want to try before "kicking the bucket." You don't have to be retired or even out of college to have a "bucket list." There's no rules when it comes to this list and you can write down anything you desire. All of these items are extremely important to you, in some shape or form, or at least have made you think during the course of your life. Events may vary from visiting relatives in Europe to eating the worlds largest hamburger. These tasks are specific to you and to you alone. You don't need reason to explain yourself, as some individuals are just not going to understand. But that's fine, because most likely there are events and ideas on their bucket list you'd never consider in a million years. Of course, you don't want to just sit around and wait for items on your bucket list. Take the bull by the horn and plan some out. If possible, set up something you have always wanted to do, each and every year. This way you don't accomplish everything in a short period of time, and you always have something to look forward to. Even if you're young and are coming to the end of your bucket list, additional items are going to make themselves known to you, because with experience in life comes more knowledge, and more knowledge leads to more sights, sounds and tastes that seem exciting. A bucket list may never become complete, as it is always growing, but at least you always have something to look forward to.
