Why Your Blood Work Is Fine But You Still Feel Like There Is Something Wrong With You

There is a routine that we go through when we are not feeling well or are going in for an annual check-up. We get blood drawn, discuss how we have been feeling with a nurse, see the doctor and restate what we told the nurse, and then we either get sent home with medication and/or you are told that you will get a call if anything of conce
is seen on your blood work. Days go by and you hear nothing. From this, you are to assume your blood work returned as “normal”. To you however, this doesn’t make sense because you are still not feeling well.

Most conventional medical approaches look at symptoms and formulate a treatment plan based on them, along with isolated labs markers. When you are treated this way, you are only placing a bandage on the problem while the cause continues to manifest and growrn.
The lab value ranges used by the majority of conventional medical doctors are termed “pathological”. There is no set universal range for most blood lab values. Each laboratory sets their own ranges based on the results that they receive. They use a statistical analysis of all the samples they test. They then use a bell curve and clip off 2.3% on each end then call that remaining range “normal.” Everything outside of that range is considered to be “pathological”.

One important question to ask is “Who typically goes to gets their blood drawn?” People who are not feeling well do. This means that when your doctor tells you that your numbers that you are “normal”, you are being compared to other people who are also not feeling well.
Fortunately, there is a completely separate set of ranges termed “functional” which embrace the principle of preventative medicine. These ranges are essentially a less broad range of biomarkers (lab values). Functional ranges are not a substitute; they are used to make the pathological ranges more sensitive.
There is a state of dysfunction that occurs before the onset of disease in the human body. Functional medicine uses those numbers to address the early stages of the dysfunction that is occurring. Have you ever heard the phrase, “Come back in 6 months and we will see how things look then”? It is unfortunate, but most likely you were instructed to return and reassess if you have fallen into the pathological range so you can be placed on a certain medication.

Disease does not just show up one day without warning. It took time to progress to the point where you either experience symptoms or it shows up in your blood work. If you are not feeling well something is wrong. PERIOD.

It is time to take your health in your own hands before these “mild symptoms” progress to a disease state. It is only a matter of time unless you make the necessary changes now! Log on to www.dynamicbalancehealth.com to have a health and nutrition expert assess your current state of health through functional blood chemistry analysis.
