One of the reasons why you probably became an entrepreneur (or why you're considering entrepreneurship) is because you are passionate about something that is very meaningful to you. There's something really special that you want to share with others that can make a difference in their lives. While many people ignore this "nudge" to do something greater, you've decided to say "yes" to it, and I really admire that. :) As excited as you may be to get your unique message out there to those who need it the most, I'll bet that you often struggle with the part that's called expressing yourself. As an entrepreneur with a quiet personality, this can be a real challenge. How do I know this? Ummm...that used to be me! I know how frustrating it can be to be really pumped about getting your message out there, but feeling as though something is blocking you. Let's explore some reasons why this might be happening: 1- You're worried about what others will think.rnThis is a big one, especially if you're used to everyone around you labelling you as the "quiet person". Now that you're ready to share your unique gifts with the world, you may be wondering what everyone else will think of you, especially those that you're closest too. Chances are, when you start expressing yourself, you'll make people around you uncomfortable, because "they don't know you like that!". Family and friends might start to wonder who this new person is! 2-You don't believe in yourselfrnYou may not be fully expressing yourself in your business, because deep down, you don't believe that you really have what it takes to succeed. You may be doubting yourself and not giving yourself permission to be the best you can be. 3-You're not really passionate about your businessrnSay what? I believe that there are entrepreneurs out there who don't really love what they do, and this is when their work becomes a J.O.B. If you aren't truly passionate about your business, there's no way you're going to be able to express who you are authentically in it. There are many more reasons why you're not bringing your whole self into your business, but those are a couple of points to get you started. Read on for some ideas that can help you express yourself on a much deeper level in your business: Your Homework Assignment: 1-When others around you feel uncomfortable with the ways in which you're expressing yourself, recognize this as a sign that you're on the right track. Choose to feel good about this, rather than worrying about ruffling feathers. Bonus tip: if no one around you is uncomfortable, you're not expressing yourself fully ;) 2-Make a list of 10 of your best qualities. Read your list often to build your belief in your special qualities and unique gifts. 3-Get real about how you feel about your business. Do you love it? If not, how would you like to feel about being in business for yourself?
