You have probably heard people talk ad nauseam about why you should take fish oil. Even though this oil really is a highly beneficial supplement, many people are wary of anything that is given so much hype. Fish oil also helps the nervous system and protects you from a number of chronic diseases. It also helps with depression, to improve and stabilize your mood. If you are a pregnant or nursing mother, you might be pleased to know that taking this oil will provide the same essential fatty acids to your child, and they are critical to good development of the brain, eyes, and nervous system, among other things.

Similar to what has already been mentioned, if you are suffering from any eye conditions, fish oil can help with that too. Your eyesight naturally gets worse as you age, but fish oil can help to counteract that. Also, it can help prevent cancer not just by reducing your inflammation, but also by actively fighting the formation and spread of cancerous cells. Sounds kind of like a science fiction plot point, but all of these have been discovered through tests and studies.

So, now you know a lot more about why you should take fish oil, and what benefits you can get from it. If you do decide to take it, be sure to look for pharmaceutical-grade oil, because this kind will have a concentrated form of Omega-3 essential fatty acids without all of the nasty contaminants and toxins that show up in fish these days.
