In the world of celebrity life, prenuptial agreements can be as unique (and often times baffling) as ever. Here are some of the most unique celebrity prenup contracts. And, if you thought Khloe Kardashian's prenup—a $5,000 monthly shopping budget and $1,000 monthly beauty budget, among other provisions—is over-the-top, clearly you aren't well-versed in the world of celebrity prenuptial agreements. Although prenup contracts may be as customized as the prenuptial attorneys draft their provisions, this article does not suggest the prenups (and terms of the prenup) would be enforceable by a competent court. However, the article is extremely interesting and insightful on how creative prenuptial attorneys can be, and how customized a prenuptial agreement may become. For instance, Khloe Kardashian asked for season courtside Lakers tickets for her whole family in her prenup contract with Lamar Odom. Imagine the prenuptial attorney advising on the enjoyment of this clause in the event of post-divorce. Prenuptial agreements can get as unique as the parties desire, and Tony Romo received the helpful suggestion that, should he propose to Jessica Simpson, he should include a clause in their prenup contract requiring her to pay him $500,000 if she topped 135 pounds. Its also rumored that, in their prenuptial agreement, Keith Urban gets about $640,000 for every year he's married to Nicole Kidman--unless the former addict starts using drugs again, in which case he gets nothing. Another unique prenup contract: Katie Holmes is rumored to receive $3 million for every year she's married to Tom Cruise up to 11 years. Apparently, their prenuptial agreement states that after 11 years she could receive half of his fortune. Although Charlie Sheen likely has a dozen attorneys, his prenuptial attorney drafted a prenup whereby Denise Richards was guaranteed $4 million if Charlie Sheen ever stepped out on her during their marriage. Here’s a $100 million reason to hire a prenuptial attorney: Steven Spielberg was forced to pay his first wife $100 million after their divorce. Spielberg claimed they had a prenup contract written on a napkin, but the judge didn’t buy it. Another reason to engage a competent prenuptial attorney is evidenced in Roseanne Barr’s divorce. Before marrying Tom Arnold, Roseanne Barr fired her prenuptial attorney for recommending she get a prenup contract. She was so in love that she was sure they would never get divorced, and therefore in no need of a prenuptial agreement. Fast forward four years and Arnold was collecting $50 million from Roseanne. Although these are just a few of the terms found in the wildest celebrity prenuptial agreements, its illustrative on how customized the parties may draft their prenuptial agreement. However, not all provisions are treated equally, and not all provisions will be deemed enforceable. Prenuptial attorneys are intimately familiar with what provisions are likely to be considered “fair and reasonable” and held valid at the time of enforcement. So, engage a prenuptial attorney and speak about which provisions and procedures will likely be enforceable, prior to formulating some of these unique clauses.
