Some other animals living here include rhino, buffalos, elephants, swamp deer, capped langur and florican, herons and egrets. Nameri National Park: The endangered white-winged wood duck and enchaining species of Hombill are main attraction of this park. An amalgamation of broad-leaved forests, hills and the River Jia Bhoroli, this place gives a sheer pleasure to nature lovers and wildlife enthusiast. It’s spread over an area of 200sqkm, and is nestled at base of western Himalayas about 35km from Tezpur. An enchanting wildlife with various species of wild animals including tigers, bear, elephant, jackals and leopard can be witnessed here. Apart from wildlife discover, one can enjoy river rafting and fishing inside the park. Orang National Park: Enjoy an exhilarating elephant ride and jeep safari while spotting wonderful wildlife at this park which is popularly referred as the ‘Little Kaziranga’. This animal reserve is nestled on the northern bank of Brahmaputra River in Tezpur, and was created as sanctuary in 1985. It was designated as a Park in 1999.
