What is Article Spinning? Article Spinning is a technique where you take an article or comment that you have written and you change various sentences in the article to create multiple articles. For example take the following sentence; the lazy dog jumped over the log. We can spin this article by placing {} around the words we want to spin; the {lazy} {dog} jumped over the log. We can then change those words {lazy, tired, scared} {dog, frog, horse}. We now have multiple sentences; the tired dog jumped over the log, the scared frog jumped over the log. You get the idea. How is Article Spinning Helpful? If you remember from previous posts, content is king. Good content however, takes time, a lot of time. Coupled with another universal truth, everyone loves shortcuts, and what do you get? Article Spinning! In theory article spinning allows you to create hundreds or even thousands of articles from one single article. These articles can then be submitted to thousands of other websites as unique articles. In theory you can generate 1,000+ back links from a single article! Does it work? Yes and no. Sorry, I know that’s not what you want to hear. Go out and take a look at all of the software and companies that offer article spinning. Obviously article spinning has worked to some degree in the past. A large question remains about the future of article spinning from the PANDA update on Google. This is an update that targeted article spinning among other things. Several very high ranking Google employees have also stated that article spinning is not something that they approve of. The takeaway is that it has worked in the past but it is getting harder to spin successfully and all indications are that it will continue to get more difficult to do in the future. Should I use it? My personal opinion is no. Much as in trading on the stock market, in the internet world, everyone is searching for the magic ticket, the guarantee of success with little to no effort. The reality is simple. In order to succeed you must create both engaging and dynamic content and then distribute successfully in order to have a great website. Article spinning doesn’t meet this criterion. As an example, here is a comment that showed up for approval on my blog today: “It’s the best time to make some plans for the longer term and it is time to be happy. I’ve learn this submit and if I could I desire to counsel you few attention-grabbing issues or suggestions. Maybe you could write next articles referring to this article. I desire to read more issues approximately it!” Does this seem like dynamic and engaging content or does this seem like a blatant attempt at free back links? Every comment and article that you post is a direct reflection on you and your business. Article spinning more often than not turns out looking like the comment above. To the human eye it does not give you a great first impression. My advice to you is spend your time focusing on creating great content, not on finding ways to ride the grey line between black hat (spam) techniques and legitimate SEO efforts. In the end you will have 10-20 really well written articles, not 100-200 poorly written articles that in most cases will be rejected %70-80 of the time.
