Ignoring your money situation will not change it. Saying affirmations that you don’t believe will not change it (at least not for a long time). Conjuring up strong emotions every once and awhile about what it would be like to have more money will not change it.
Worrying about your money situation will not change it. Getting frustrated about your money situation will not change it. Judging yourself for having money issues will not change it. Feeling badly about your money situation will not change it.
What will change it?
A shift in focus. Starting to eliminate your underlying beliefs about money. Starting to ask different questions. Starting to notice what shows up from the questions you ask and then taking action. Starting to shift your perceptions and beliefs about money.
That’s what changes your money situation.
Basic attraction principles states that ‘like energy attracts like energy’. You’ve all heard – ‘what you focus on grows’. So what do we do when our ‘reality’ keeps shoving ‘the lack of money’ in our face? There it is – every day. More bills, more wants – no extra dough. The energy around this is high. Our worry energy, our frustration energy …all really high. You can, quite literally, see it on people’s faces and you can feel it. It’s catching, and has been for a couple of years now. Did you know that money fear is contagious? We have a world-wide pandemic when it comes to this.
Have you ever gone into a large store or a crowd of people and all of a sudden become depressed or your mood has shifted? You might have just thought that you were feeling badly about being in a store where you couldn’t buy all that you wanted or you were worried about the money you were about to spend. But, what if you were actually just picking up on everyone else’s feelings?
First of all, I want you to start being aware of this and then decide not to own everyone else’s feelings. This awareness will start a shift in focus. What if you didn’t have to feel badly about your money situation? What if you could actually start to change it?
Next, start paying attention to the running dialogue you have going on under the surface. Write down all your points of view about money as you’re going through your day. You’ll likely be astonished at how much of a negative undercurrent there is going on in the background all the time.
I had one client who I’d been working with for a few months who, all of a sudden, one day became aware of that on-going voice in the background. On one hand she had these aspiring goals and thoughts and in the background she had this voice that had conflicting goals and thoughts. It’s there for all of us – the trick to changing this is to become aware of that voice.
Once you do, you can start to ask question that will shift your focus and perspective. Please remember this…the path to getting unstuck is to ask questions!! Always. Every time. Feel stuck..ask a question.
Here’s an example. You wake up in the middle of the night and you can’t get back to sleep because you start thinking about how much credit card debt you have, whether or not you’re going to continue to have a job, about all the things that need to be repaired or maintained, never mind that you haven’t had a holiday since who knows when – you feel like you’re drowning. Okay, I’ll stop there. For some of you, this will feel somewhat familiar or like what happened last night.
To shift out of that, start to ask questions. Why? By asking a question, you’re inviting both your subconscious mind AND the Universe to find an answer to your question. When you ask, you start receiving information. Ask a lot, you’ll get more information, faster.
Here’s the questions you want to ask in relation to the scenario above… ‘What would it take to pay off my credit card debt?’; ‘What would it take to bring in more money into the household?’; ‘What would it take to have a great, high-paying job?’; ‘What would it take to have more money and more business?’; ‘What would it take for more money to show up easily?’; ‘What would it take for everything to stay in good repair?’; ‘What would it take to go on a fun holiday?’; ‘What would it take for me to release the fear around finances?’; ‘What would it take for the money to show up to buy ‘x’?.
The list could go on and on.
Here’s the thing, ask at least one of these questions, or one that really resonates with you, at least 20 to 30 times a day. You WILL start receiving information. A key thing to note here, when you ask the question, don’t go into trying to figure out the answer. You’re only accessing what you already know by doing that and by doing that, you’re accessing limited information. I could literally talk for a long time about that but I’ll leave it here – don’t try and answer the question yourself, don’t try and figure out the answer. You are asking your subconscious and the unlimited resources of the Intelligence embedded in the Universe to deliver possibilities.
Your job at this point is to start paying attention to what is showing up and then acting on what lights you up, what feels most interesting, what feels most exciting to act on. Action is key. I called this inspired action – you get an inspiration and you act on it. Over and over, I see miracles happen with this.
Keep an eye out, because in May or June, I’ll be running a teleseminar on this very topic where I’ll be able to walk you through my newly created Smarter, Faster, Now System and where I’ll be able to answer your questions about this topic. If you’re interested in getting updates on this – go here.
Take these few steps and they will start to lead you in a new direction and put more money in your pocket.
Cheers!
