Moving on to the fashion centres and catwalks, most of the offerings from the top fashion designer in Delhi remained centred around the headgear. If it is not tie dyes, then it was sunshine blocks. Huge hats in a variety of colours ranging from orange to pastel greens and blues to match the loose-fitting garments dominated the scene. It is a riot of colours this winter with the browns and oranges taking centre stage.

The Fall show for Men and Women 2018 had all the top designers like Louis Vuitton (men) and Chloe (women). Ramsay Levi’s looks from Chloe featured cut outs with long goat hair trim, unstructured trench, and elongated blazers paired with soft jodhpur joggers, lace-inset pleated skirt, and fur embroidery carried the attention of spectators. Her use of flares and multi-layering is daunting but certainly suits the style she wants to create as the winter fashion of 2018.

Skirt suits, pneumatic running shoes, and frock coats along with other accoutrements make a major part of the design element in the Louis Vuitton armoury. These are ado
ed with blatant logos and shoulder spanning stripes making the wearer look like a space alien if nothing else. If you do not consider these outlandish, then the trimmed, cropped jackets with metal chains and other accessories certainly will. Add dense beadwork and strangely asymmetrical halter tops and you might as well be on another planet.

Party Look in India

India has a rich diversity due to the many cultures that coexist here. Beginning with party wear trends that include layering and pairing techniques, to adding shimmering pieces of clothing, there is a whole lot of thinking to do when you need something that stands out in a crowd scene. When you wear a pair of jeans or shorts, you are ready with the party look. Checks in black and white or in colour are making reappearance this fall. While they are not yet the go-to trend, they are taking up a lot of space in the metro fashion scene.

Wearing floral is like saying that you have not done your winter fashion shopping yet. But there are those who are flaunting it so maybe there is a growing trend here. And a certain number of accessories are called for. Bags, watches, purses, belts, and waistbands are inevitable but there is no cut and dried fashion rule for these. It is up to you to mix and match them as you see fit.
