WINTER RV TIPS
For most people, winter means hibernation time. But, for RV adventurers, winter brings with it some beautiful RV destinations. Snow frosted mountains, icy lake campgrounds… doesn’t that sound peaceful?
Before you head out for the winter, we wanted to share some important tips to help keep you safe and warm:
Insulate: Keep as much warmth inside the RV as possible by insulating. Use thick rugs to help add an additional barrier to the cold floor. Seal and cover all windows and even add thermal curtains to really help keep heat from escaping. During the daylight hours, remove the covers to let the warm sun rays add additional heat to your home.
Use an RV Skirt: RV skirts can be attached along the bottom of your RV. When used properly, it will reduce internal heat loss, keeping the warmth inside your motor home. It will also protect it during strong winds. RV skirts can be Velcroed or zippered on to take on and off when needed or as the seasons change.
Secure Your Electrical Connection: Your electrical connection is essential during winter months. Having your RV properly heated is not only necessary for you and your family, but for all the inner workings –plumbing, heating, etc. SmartPlug is a revolutionary shore power connection solution that is triply weatherproofed and can withstand all of winter’s conditions.
