With the family to Costa Brava, Spain

Everybody knows the Costa Brava as one of the most popular tourist destinations during the summer. The Costa Brava is the coastal area in northern Spain.The Costa Brava area offers good vacation possibilities for families.Children will enjoy the beaches and they can play around while the parents are taking a nap under the sun.But there's much more to see and to do.I'd like to highlight some things to do in Costa Brava special for families.

The National Park of Cap de Creus
The Spanish government protects this area.It's one of the unique places on the Iberian Peninsula in the the north of the Costa Brava.It covers several municipal areas, including The port of La Selva, Selva de Mar, Cadaqués and Roses.It has an abrupt coast with deep waters and plenty of small islands, very high cliffs, reefs of rocks made stark by erosion and the winds.There are forests in the inland and small hidden bays with transparent water, often only accessible from the sea. The singular nature of some rocks associated with the shape of animals, which over time have become mythical, are specially noteworthy.

Emp̼ries РAncient ruins
Empúries is a small Spanish town on the Meditarranean coast. Greek colonists conquered this place in 575 before Christ.Later the Romans occupied the town.The ruins are situated between L'Escala and San Martí in Costa Brava.There's a good car parking facility and the site may be reached by a traffic-free coastal walk from L'Escala. Special ruins to pay attention to are the Palaeochristian basilica, the Roman wall and the Roman mosaic.

Lloret de Mar – Gnomo theme-park
The Gnomo park is a theme park just outside Lloret de Mar.This park is ideal for younger kids.There's a farm with gnomes, several attractions, a children's labyrinth, bowling lanes, mini golf and much more.The park has a restaurant and a snack bar.

The Waterworld theme-park
This is the largest water park on the Costa Brava with many rides and there's even a bungee jump.Because Waterworld provides a huge assortment of water attractions and slides the park is a good alternative for people who want to do something different than drinking and lying on the beach all day long. The park is open every day from 10-19 and from many places there's a free shuttle bus.
