The very term, Women Priests, seems like such an unbelievable term, something that conceivably never could or ever be. This still today, remains the sentiment of far too many Catholics. To them, this simply is an irrefutable fact coming from Rome, there never were women priests. What exactly will it take for fellow members of the Laity, of the Catholic Church, to recognize the fact of previous women priests in their Church’s history?
Preconceived Ideas

What might shake their preconceived ideas, when hearing the term Women Priests? How can they ever begin to relate to this concept, when they personally have never experienced it themselves? Just as the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church sees’ this as not even an issue on their radar, the same can be said for our Church’s Laity, both here in the US, as well as world-wide. Is it no wonder that everyday Catholic’s, have this same view? Looking at the current Church Lectionary, stories of Women’s Ministry are sorely missing. Leaving the Laity, from discovering these Women’s past Ministerial presence in our Church.

How are these Catholics expected to know this, when their Church never told them the Truth about this? Let’s face it, to be involved, connected to something. You have to be personally touched by it. Even with the fact of the truth of past Women Priests, will mean nothing until these Catholics can begin to personally relate to this past truth in our Church. Having role models of Women Priests, Women Bishops, and Women Deacons will bring back not a new tradition, rather a previously lost Women Religious Heritage which was stopped by the introduction of Man – Made Law.
