Working as an Inside House Painter

This is someone who paints houses for a living. Many time those that work in home renovation or construction industries will work as an inside house painter, full or part time. Some are self-employed. When working as a house painter it is your job to:

You should enjoy working using your hands and do not mind getting dirty, and are outgoing and able to talk to people. You also must be physically fit and able to stand up and work for a long significant period, climbing up and down ladders, and stretching your upper body.

To become an indoor house painter you do not need any formal education or training because most will learn their trade will working on a job. Some of the skills you need to have include no fear of heights, and steady hands for detail work. You should also appreciate the aesthetics of an area and have an eye for matching colors.

When providing a quote to a prospective client make sure that it list clearly the scope of the project, the cost for materials, and labor, and completions time line. It should be in writing. Many homeowners will get two or more quotes before they will select the painter to do the job. They will normally choose the one that will give the best price possible and greatest level of quality. Once the quote is accepted and deposit or down payment is paid, the painter has to purchase the right amount of paint in the color(s) that the homeowner requested. In the quote, some painters will write down the exact shade(s) and brand of paint the homeowner requested. The painter will decide which paint and primer is suitable for the job.

How much preparation is required before the inside of the house can be painted will vary according to the job. There may be paint or wallpaper that has to be taken off. You may also have to prepare the surface of the walls with primer before painting. It could also be as simple as washing the surface to make sure that it is clean so the new paint can hold fast to the wall. How the paint is applied to the surface will also vary. It depends on the surface to be painted, the paint used, the size and how the walls are laid out, and the colors used.
