Working Through Emotional Pain Is A Lot Like Weeding A Garden
Earlier on, it occurred to me that when it comes to working through emotional wounds, it is very similar to weeding a garden. At this point, you might wonder how the former has got anything to do with the latter.
Perhaps the reason why I was able to see this connection is that I have removed a lot of weeds over the years. Many years ago, I worked at a crematorium and I also took care of a few gardens.
Moving On
Anyway, when it comes to emotional healing, it’s not a case of resolving one emotional wound and then that’s the end of it. However, once one has been resolved, someone can feel good and/or at peace.
After a little while, they can end up getting in touch with another emotional wound and feeling sad or powerless, for instance. Now, this process can go on for many, many years but over time, there will be fewer wounds for them to resolve, making it easier for them to be present and to feel at ease.
A Very Different Experience
So, if at one stage of their journey they are very unstable and find it hard to function, at another stage of their journey they will be more centred and able to handle life. Healing their wounds will then have gone from being a focal point of their life to another part of their life.
Once they arrive at this point, they will know that the work that they put into this area of their life has paid off. They will have “levelled up”, so to speak and now they will be able to enjoy their time on this planet.
The Connection
Now, when someone starts to weed a garden for the first time, in the beginning, it will be full of weeds and will, therefore, require a lot of their attention. But, providing they continue to weed the garden, they will gradually notice a difference.
As times passes and they have removed most of the weeds, they won’t need to spend as much time weeding. It will be something that they will only need to do every now and then; it won’t consume their life.
Another Part
And, once someone has removed all the weeds, they can experience a sense of relief. But, before long, more weeds can start to appear and they will have to weed the garden again.
This is because some of the weeds won’t have sprouted; they will be hidden in the dirt, just like the emotional wounds that will be hidden in someone’s unconscious mind/body. Yet, as long as they remove these weeds, there will be fewer weeds hidden in the dirt and thus, fewer weeds for them to remove as time passes.
Final Thoughts
With that said, if you are working through your emotional wounds, don't be discouraged if another one enters your conscious awareness after you have healed one, or if you have been doing this for a little while. You can trust that everything is going as it should and that you are moving in the right direction.
If, on the other hand, you can see that you have emotional wounds to resolve and haven’t started this process yet and you are ready to start this process, feel free to reach out to me. In addition to the books, how-to guides and courses that I offer, I also offer personalised consultations.

Quit Inflicting “BUT” on Yourself!
While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
