According to Guinness Book of World Records, the "1001 Nights Diamond Purse" by the Mouawad Company is certified as the world's most expensive handbag ever created. It is valued at a whopping $3.8 million! Normally, it is hard to find the value in uber expensive items because they possess a little "fluff" in the price, but not this time. The handbag is crafted from 18-carat gold and ado
ed by over 381 carats of diamonds. There is a grand total of 4,517 individual gems; 105 of which are yellow diamonds, 56 pink, and the remaining 4,516 are colorless. The glimmering bag took over four months and 1,100 hours to complete with ten artisans working on it.

The purse comes from the House of Mouawad, a Dubai-based fashion house that was established in 1890. The dazzling purse was a creation from Mouawad's co-guardian, Pascal Mouawad. When asked about the design he stated, "The Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse is designed to mesmerize with its lavish attention to detail and elaborate workmanship incorporating thousands of diamonds." I think it is safe to say that Mouawad accomplished his goal. This isn't Mouawad's first time designing such exquisite pieces. He is also known for his design of the Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Fantasy Bra, which is the world's most expensive bra. The dazzling undergarment was first displayed for the world in 2003 when Heidi Klum donned it for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York. Needless to say, Mouawad is a genius when it comes to designing with diamonds.
