Here are some ways to create enthusiasm and a positive attitude for your next transition: Create a Vision Board Whether your new path is something you planned and trained for in school, or one that has been pending for a long time, it’s important to get crystal clear on your vision. Hone in on exactly what you want to do. Write down in detail your vision and your goals, and action steps for each goal. Determine which elements of your vision you feel most strongly about and rewrite your vision in order of priority. To create a vision board, surround your written plan with pictures, words, quotations, etc, that symbolize your vision and what you want to achieve. This can be done on poster board and placed where you can see it everyday or even on your laptop. You will be amazed by the opportunities that show up when you create your vision with honest desire and sharp focus. Trust your gut Some of us know exactly what life we want from an early age, others have no clue and need to experience many different things before finding their calling. If you’re not sure then start by following your gut and see where that leads you. Yes, it’s good for much more then digesting beer and wings – it’s the source of our intuition! Everyone has intuition; it’s just a matter of tapping into it and acting on it. If you’re new to this, start by asking yourself what you really enjoy doing, what experiences are missing in your life, or what you are drawn to create. The answers that surface may be surprising, but go with your gut. You might just find your life’s calling. Be Fluid There will be times when things are pan out just as we plan, and times when roadblocks challenge us. Challenges drive us to make choices that show who we truly are. They force us to either grow or not grow. If you are observant they will reveal you to yourself. Can you roll up your sleeves and get to work, doing whatever is necessary to keep inching toward your goal? Can you re-assess and redirect your course if need be? You made it this far, so of course you can. Sometimes roadblocks are there to steer you down a different path. There may be new doors to open along the new path, revealing directions in which you hadn’t considered going or paths you didn’t even know existed. You can always change your mind, change course, or even go back the way you came. Be flexible and willing to embrace the openings and closings of many doors along the way. Your life is like a maze that you create as you go. It can be as amazing as you decide it to be. It takes vision, intuition, flexibility and courage to rise to the challenge of moving into unknown territory. But hey, this is your next great adventure!
