Candidiasis or commonly known as yeast infection is a fungal infection caused by candida albicans fungus. This fungus is normally present in our body along with other naturally occurring bacteria in our body. The fungus thrives in moist warm areas of the body like the skin, mouth and genital area. In most cases, the fungus does not cause any harm but infection occurs when there is over population or rapid multiplication of the fungus. At the onset of the infection, it is important that you know how to stop candidiasis to prevent other health issues. Before knowing how to stop candidiasis, you have to know what triggers the rapid multiplication of the fungus. One culprit is weak immune system, poor diet, taking antibiotics and the use of genital products that irritate the normal occurring bacteria in the body. The discomfort of having yeast infection has a great impact in the quality of your life. The pains and irritation often gives you stress and frustration. Vaginal discharge, urinary disorder, painful sexual intercourse, skin rashes, oral thrush, itching and burning sensation, abdominal bloating, depression, inflammation of the infected area are just some of the disturbing symptoms that makes your life miserable. Learning how to stop candidiasis will improve the quality of your life. Here are some tips to stop candidiasis: Eat the right kind of food. The type of food that you eat has great influence in the occurrence of yeast infection. To stop candidiasis, you have to eat the right kind of food. Foods that influence the growth of the fungus are carbohydrates, sugar, processed or fermented food and yeast-containing food. Limit the intake of food that encourages the propagation of candida. Avoid commercial products that increase the risk of infection. For vaginal yeast infection, douching and the use of scented vaginal wash that irritates the vaginal flora should be avoided. There are also laundry soaps for washing underwear that causes irritation on your genitals, so avoid those products. Unscented antifungal soaps are much better. Antifungal drugs. This is usually the common treatment for yeast infection. These medicines may not totally stop candidiasis but it is helpful for immediate relief. Some of these antifungal drugs are just over the counter medicines and some need prescriptions. Of course it is important to seek medical help to make sure what you have is yeast infection and not something else. It is important to find the right treatment that will totally stop candidiasis because it has the tendency to comeback over and over again. Natural remedies are another option if you have tried almost everything and the infection keeps coming back.
