Yoga and asanas are two closely related terms. Yoga asanas are postures that are practiced according to the yoga sutras. Asana which is a Sanskrit word means sitting steady and there are two aspects of Asana that are most important – the place where one is sitting and the manner in which he or she is sitting. The most important part of yoga and asanas is to sit firmly in a posture but in a relaxed way. The objective of yoga asanas is to attain physical and mental well being through the biodynamic union of the spine. There are hundreds of yoga and asanas. Some are simple to do and there are some advanced postures that can be done after years of yoga practice. rnBenefits of yoga – Yoga is known for its benefits both physical and metal. Regular practice of yoga will not only keep you fit and strong, it will also relax your mind and relieve stress. Though it is often said that yoga is good for curing ailments, what it actually does is cures the system from within that eventually cease the illness. Yoga flushes out the toxins from our system and purifies the system that keeps diseases away. rnPrepare yourself before yoga – If you are considering yoga for beginner, you need to first go through preparation for yoga. There are some easy yoga and asanas that you should start with. Then as your body becomes flexible you can start practicing more advanced postures. It is always better to learn yoga information from books other sources but when it comes to learn the asanas, you should only rely to experienced yoga trainers.rnDifferent yoga postures – As we have already mentioned there are hundreds of asanas or yoga postures. Of course you cannot practice all of them. In fact you need not do all of them to get the benefit of yoga. Each asana has its unique posture and specific benefits. Your yoga trainer is the best person to tell you which are the asanas that you need to practice every day. Learn those asanas and practice them regularly at the same time to get maximum benefits of yoga.rnMethods of yoga practice – Though yoga is not known for causing any harm, it can cause strain or muscle pulls if not practiced in the right way. Moreover, if you do not practice yoga in the right way you will never benefit from the asanas. There are many aspects that are closely related to yoga practice. Everything - place of yoga, time of yoga, your physical condition your mental state everything should be perfect to get the best result. Ideally you should practice yoga early in the morning when the mind calm, environment is soothing. It will help you to practice yoga with absolute concentration.
